- Boats 3 through 16 were standard wooden lifeboats, designed to hold 65 people each.
- The 4 collapsible boats were designed to hold 47 people each.
- The collapsible boats had wooden slat bottoms like the standard type, but canvas sides that could be raised and/or lowered for compact storage.
- The boats could carry a total of 1178 people, but only saved about 700.
- The whereabouts of the boats today are not fully known.
